SR: Ticket to Ride Europe
After a long long time, we decided to play Ticket to Ride Europe again. It was the first time for Kleki-Petra's new boy friend (Maurice) to join our group. It has also been a premiere for a 5 player TtR Europe game on the actual board (it is pretty easy to find 5 players online, but offline it's apparently a different story). Maurice seemed to enjoy the game and did a pretty good job, too. Of course he did have a considerable disadvantage as we all knew the tickets and routes inside out. However, he was getting along with everyone else. This can either mean that the other 4 players are not good TtR Europe players - but can you believe this? No, really, without being immodest, I believe Ticket to Ride plays okay with both experienced and new players at the table. Of course, the experienced players will have an advantage but I guess there are worse games in that respect.
On another thought, maybe we can teach Maurice the original Ticket to Ride, once the new small Essen 2006 expansion is out: Ticket to Ride USA 1910.
In the end I was able to win - having claimed the 21 point route and completed København - Erzurum, Rostov - Erzurum, and Riga - Bucuresti. The final board position is displayed below.

Ticket to Ride Europe - Session on July 9th (yes, the day of the FIFA Worldcup final)
Comments
Good job. København - Erzurum is my absolute least favourite long ticket. I don't think I've ever won a game when I've drawn it.
