SR: Die Dolmengötter
After having won the Blue Moon game, Shelak suggested to play Die Dolmengötter. This might have been an attempt to sheer me up, as I like the game so much. We started out with some very strange moves.

Yellow (me) started in a valuable 5-4-4 position at #1. Green (Shelak) decided to take a 5-4-3 spot with #2 generating a nice connection in the left circle valued at 4 points. Then, with my #3, I decided to take the next better 5-4-4 position in a somewhat adjacent circle of value 5. Green countered this with their #4 in a 5-3-3 position. Note, how this druid is placed so well. A simple move to the upper left would allow him to put a stone that counts for both circles. Pretty stupid I thought, but then I came up with #5 which makes it a little bit less catastrophic. By putting it right next to the #4 green druid, I am able to get a little advantage. Since I get to move first, my stone will be the first in both circles and the green druid cannot really move without giving me a good start in at least one of the two circles. The picture below shows how the game evolved during the first few druid moves. Pretty difficult situation...

A few turns later the strange situation evolved into something that was not looking good for yellow. Already three stone on the board but no Dolmen. Bad, bad, bad.

My mistakes added up and I really blew it during midgame. I kept my valuable Dolmens with value 3 way way too long. It was really horrible. In the end Shelak came out far far ahead: 102 points vs. 82. I probably need to brush up on my tactics...

This really was a kind of strange game this time. Normally Naturelich beat me on this one, with one hand roped on his back... Why he kept this valuable stones that long, I can't think of. Since the middle of the game I was sure to have lost this game. What a surprise at the end and what a gloriuos victory. But I'm sure, he'll beat me next time again...
