RoboRally session

Today, I enjoyed a five-player session of RoboRally. The last time I played RoboRally was probably in 1997 or 1998. Back then, my gaming group had quite a heavy hit on the game, although it can be a little bit frustrating at times. We decided to cut the game short by placing only three waypionts on two boards. This was a good decision as the game already took longer than I had remembered or anticipated.

The early game phase was a lot of fun. My robot hit the holes twice thanks to AM. She was first to reach the second waypoint. As usually in RoboRally, we could not stop this head start. Shelak, who came third to the second waypoint got very close but did not catch her in time. JLo was not doing bad as he was second to reach waypoint number two. Unfortunately, he was forced into a detour which allowed Shelak to outrun him. Even more unfortunately, Raven's robot got messed around with by everyone. She got chopped down a conveyor belt which took her into the wrong direction and made it impossible to return quickly. Bad luck culminated as she received cards that did not help her much in reaching the second waypoint. Therefore, this little robot did not influence the others as much and the game was probably rather frustrating for her. JLo wanted to play again but the group decided to play a game of Rabohnzel.

You forgot to mention that I was the only one in this session who let his roboter ran into a hole by plan!!

Yes, it`s true, I played my game on another territory as you, but it was the only robot who never dies. For this time I`m the first from the back. So I will try to be it from the front again in the next game...!

@Shelak: Oh did you kill your robot on purpose? I think I might have missed that, sorry! Maybe it just was not as obvious... :D

@Raven: Better luck next time...
