Rabohnzel session
Christmas gaming continued with another new title from Essen 2005: Rabohnzel (Designed by Uwe Rosenberg and published by Lookout Games). Rabohnzel is the latest release in the line of Bohnanza games. During previous years it has become a habit for Lookout Games to sell a limited edition Bohnanza game at Essen. As "always", Rabohnzel is limited to 3000 copies.
The game takes the Bohnanza idea into the idea of magic and fairy tales. Rabohnzel is not an expansion, it is a standalone game. Players can use magic spell cards to influence and steal other player's cards draw more cards, etc. This expansion makes the original game more complicated without adding enough spice to it. In fact, it has become probably even slower and more difficult to see a clear strategy now. Maybe this is just me.
In the end, I was able to win the game but I am not so sure whether I liked it a lot. I probably need another go to really remove the game from it's current shay of gray and move it to a black or light grey...
