Naturelich's game list for Essen 2005
Unfortunately, I will only be able to attend Essen 2005 on the very last day. I had to do this a couple of years ago. But since the exhibition booths all close down fairly early I am not too happy about this situation. Maybe I can take one day off from work (Friday?!) but that's yet to be seen. Chances don't look too good, though.
But despite this tragedy, I have come to prepare my want and play list for Essen 2005 new products.
Oh, before I start the list: does anyone have any idea why there is so much fuzz about Sudoku? Several game companies seem to offer their own variation. Maybe that's something to check out?! Any hints are appreciated!
Must-see
- Niagara by Thomas Liesching (Zoch) - A usual suspect, Spiel das Jahres 2005
- Ticket to Ride - PC game - Hey, I am addicted to this game... :)
- Elasund - Die Erste Stadt by Klaus Teuber (Kosmos) is the second game in the Abenteuer von Catan series. The first game in this series was Candamir - Die Ersten Siedler which I enjoyed a lot.
- Railroad Tycoon by Glenn Drover and Martin Wallace (Eagle Games) - This one looks complex but very promising
- Carcassonne - Neues Land by Leo Colovini (Hans im Glück) - The next Carcassonne clone
- Tempus by Martin Wallace (Pro Ludo) - This one looks really good...
- Ru(h)m und Ehre by Stefan Feld (alea) - It's from alea - isn't that enough?
Nice-to-haves
- Beowulf from Fantasy Flight Games
- Hazienda by Wolfgang Kramer
- Raubritter by Rüdiger Dorn (Queen Games)
- Drachenreiter by Jean du Poel and Klaus-Jürgen Wrede (Amigo)
Ok, that's my list, but there's also Billygames Essen 2005 update to be checked out.
Edit September 28th: Mikko Saari has another list with games a little bit less mainstream and more difficul to get.

Hi Olivier. I just finished my first Sudoku session. It's quite an interesting game and I can see why people find it addictive. It will be interesting to see how board game publishers translate the game.
