Zurich, Solothurn and Basel...

Having returned from two days in Switzerland I am pretty exhausted. The Swiss plane was stuck at Basel airport for half an hour and due to bad thunderstorms, the service was stopped. Bad luck for someone who was naturelich hungry. Even worse, because this was the first flight after Swiss had re-introduced free snacks in eco.

Airberlin was far better on the flight to Zurich. Friendly, quick and cheap. Just a little bit too early in the day. Getting up at 4.00 o'clock is not one of my particular strengths...

I stayed in Solothurn's the Hotel an der Aare from Thursday night to Friday. The hotel was opened in January 2005 and is one of the best hotels in the city. The hotel building was used as a hospital (Altes Spital) in the 18th century. The hotel has a magnificent view over the Aare river and the mountains. Especially the restaurant is magnificient - given the right weather. And funny enough, the sun was shining all along in Switzerland...
