Business trip to Frankfurt and Basel

Since I have recently missed my home flight, I had to drive by rental car from Basel back to Düsseldorf. I seem to have acquired taste for driving the entire way by car (sarcastic irony): on Monday I had a business meeting in Frankfurt am Main. The rest of the week holds more meetings in Basel. Therefore, I decided to take the entire journey by car. Which could potentially be rather nice, if it only offered the opportunity to further investigate the surrounding areas of Basel (located in a border triangle between Switzerland, France and Germany). However, the entire schedule here is so busy, I cannot afford to have much spare time. It was suggested by my laborious, painstaking self to spend the evenings working in the hotel.

Holy Exception: It is November. Oh - and what makes this month an exception? Well, November, is Käsefondue-time (cheese fondue-time) in Basel. And tomorrow will be Käsefondue-Day. Should Germany ever decide to get rid of their National Holiday (Day of Reunification) (eds. note: as was suggested by German government last week), I suggest we give Germany a new national holiday for Käsefondue day. This would enable Germans to drive to Switzerland to enjoy this delicious meal (eds. note #2: written by someone who normally does not like to eat cheese...). Then this holiday would not only be bad for German econonmy as is our current National Holiday (if we believe the government). It would be twice as bad, as all the money would be spend on Swiss Käsefondue-restaurants... Can someone please suggest this to the German government ;-)
